ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Zade Associates, LLC is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm specializing in MEP/FP engineering, consulting, and design. Founded in 1963, the family owned firm has been serving the Greater Boston area and beyond for over 50 years. At this time, we are looking to add a new Electrical Engineer to our team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute electrical designs for different phases of the project including schematic design, design development and construction documents, under the supervision of a Principal Electrical Engineer.

  • Utilize AutoCad to model electrical system components and systems in accordance with the department’s and client’s procedures and standards

  • Strong understanding of laying out electrical gear and spaces, sizing branch circuits, laying out devices, lighting layout and circuitry including lighting controls in accordance with the energy codes.

  • Fundamental knowledge of associated Codes and Standards including the IBC, IECC and the NEC.

  • Fundamental knowledge of emergency systems including generators, ATS UPS systems and lighting inverters.

  • Create specifications, Construction Administration activities including submittal reviews, RFI responses and Shop Drawing reviews.

  • Have understanding of electrical construction procedures and systems/materials used in constructing electrical systems and components.

  • Ability to perform site investigation surveys to support design efforts and interim and final punch list reviews to support Construction Administration and Project Closeout.

  • Verbal and written communications skills to support team coordination activities.

KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Technology.

  • Taken and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and ability to achieve licensure within 2 years.

  • LEED Accreditation.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the MEP Building Design Industry. Strong understanding of the NEC, IBC and IECC

  • AutoCad, Microsoft Word and Excel

DESIGNERS/DRAFTERS: HVAC, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, FIRE PROTECTION

Openings for designers/drafters for several disciplines: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire Protection.

Candidates should be experienced in CAD and well-versed in their discipline with appropriate knowledge of state and local building codes and MEP systems and designs. Past familiarity in residential, commercial, and retail projects and preferably an understanding of energy codes and LEED.

Our goal is to find a candidate who is willing to learn and grow and continue to advance their skill levels.

Pay will be hourly and based on level of knowledge and past experience with paid time off. Flexibility to work partially-remote after probationary period.
